RESOLVED: (Nash/Garcia) that the apologies received from Crs Andrews and Bowen be accepted and leave of absences from the meeting be granted.

 

Confirmation of the Minutes

 

Confirmation of the Minutes of the Works Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 9 August 2016

WO22/16

RESOLUTION: (Nash/Smith) that the Minutes of the Works Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 9 August 2016 (copies of which were circulated to all Councillors) be and are hereby confirmed as a correct record of the proceedings of that meeting.

 

Declarations of Pecuniary and Non-Pecuniary Interests

 

a)    Cr Shurey declared a pecuniary interest in Item W18/16 as her husband was the resident member on the Committee and her property will be impacted. Cr Shurey indicated that she would not take part in the debate or the voting on the matter.

 

b)    Cr Belleli declared a pecuniary interest in Item W20/16 as his wife teaches dancing for one of the organisations mentioned. Cr Belleli indicated that he would not take part in the debate or the voting on the matter.

 

c)   Cr Garcia declared a non-significant non pecuniary interest in Item W20/16 as a member of the Executive of the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club.

W17/16   Works Report - Kensington Centennial Park Floodplain Management Committee (PROJ/10059/2014)

RESOLUTION: (Stavrinos/Garcia) that:

 

a)     the Draft Kensington Centennial Park Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan be placed on public exhibition for 28 days.

 

b)     a workshop to receive community feedback be organised.

 

c)     Council officers report back to Council on the outcomes of the public consultation.

W18/16   Works Report - Maroubra Bay Floodplain Management Committee (PROJ/10323/2007)

Note: Having previously declared an interest, Cr Shurey left the chamber and took no part in the debate or voting on this matter.

W20/16   Works Report - Donation of Trade Waste Services for Community Based Organisations (F2016/00393)

RESOLUTION: (Matson/Stavrinos) that Council approves the free provision of Trade Waste Services to the groups listed below:

 

·     Clovelly Child Care

·     Coogee Surf Life Saving Club

·     Wylies Baths

·     WindGap

·     Kooloora Community

·     St Mark’s Anglican Church

·     Duffys Child Care Centre

·     St Andrew’s Church.

W21/16   Works Report - Sports Committee Meeting Minutes (F2005/00446)

WO27/16

RESOLUTION: (Moore/Stavrinos) that the minutes of the Sports Committee Meeting held on 17 August 2016 be received and noted.

 

MOTION: (Moore/Stavrinos) CARRIED - SEE RESOLUTION.

 

 

W22/16   Works Report - Verge Planting - 10 Centennial Avenue, Randwick (F2004/07515)

WO28/16

RESOLUTION: (Stavrinos/Neilson) that:

 

a)     the two Illawarra Flame Trees be removed and replaced with one Peppercorn Tree in line with Council’s Street Tree Masterplan.

 

b)     the verge garden be permitted to remain on the basis that the owner of 10 Centennial Avenue agrees to continue to maintain the plantings such that the amenity of other road users in not unreasonably impacted.

 

c)        the complainant and the owner of 10 Centennial Avenue be advised of the outcome of this resolution.

 

MOTION: (Stavrinos/Neilson) CARRIED - SEE RESOLUTION.
