RESOLVED: (Mayor, Cr Matson/Procopiadis) that the apologies received from Crs Bowen, Notley-Smith and Stevenson be accepted and leave of absences from the meeting be granted.

RESOLUTION: (Woodsmith/Hughes) that the Minutes of the Works Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 12 April 2011 (copies of which were circulated to all Councillors) be and are hereby confirmed as a correct record of the proceedings of that meeting.

The Mayor, Cr Matson declared a non significant non pecuniary in Item W13/11 as the applicant participated in the Greens election campaign.

W11/11    Works Report - Arden Street and Coogee Bay Road 40km/h High Pedestrian Activity Area (HPAA) (F2010/00319)

WO14/11

RESOLUTION: (Andrews/Procopiadis) that the proposal for a 40km/h high pedestrian activity area speed limit, with the associated traffic devices, applying to parts of Arden Street and Coogee Bay Road, be endorsed for public exhibition and a report back to Council with outcomes.

 

AMENDMENT: (Smith/Nash) that the proposal for a 40km/h high pedestrian activity area speed limit, with the associated traffic devices, applying to parts of Arden Street and Coogee Bay Road be put on hold until Councillors are briefed in relation to proposed upgrade works for Coogee Bay Road. LOST.

 

MOTION: (Andrews/Procopiadis) CARRIED - SEE RESOLUTION.

W12/11    Works Report - Ficus ‘Hillii’ outside 22 Day Avenue, Kensington (F2004/07359)

WO15/11

RESOLUTION: (Nash/Procopiadis) that the Ficus ‘Hillii’ (Hill’s Weeping fig) street tree growing on the nature strip outside 22 Day Avenue, Kensington be removed and replaced with an advanced 100-litre Waterhousia floribunda (Weeping Lilly Pilly).

 

MOTION: (Nash/Procopiadis) CARRIED - SEE RESOLUTION.

 

 

 

W13/11    Works Report - Ficus ‘Hillii’ outside 17 Abbott Street, Coogee (F2004/07359)

WO16/11

RESOLUTION: (Nash/White) that the Ficus ‘Hillii’ (Hill’s Weeping fig) street tree growing on the nature strip outside 17 Abbott Street, Coogee, be removed.

 

MOTION: (Nash/White) CARRIED - SEE RESOLUTION.
