CONFIRMATION OF THE MINUTES OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, 11TH MAY, 2004.
C4 RESOLUTION: (Kenny/Woodsmith) that the Minutes of the Meeting of the Community Services Committee held on Tuesday, 11th May, 2004 (copies of which were circulated to all Councillors) be and are hereby confirmed as a correct record of the proceedings of that meeting.

4.1 MAYORAL MINUTE 56/2004 - NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR PREVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT. (98/S/3483)
C5 RESOLUTION: (His Worship the Mayor, Cr M. Matson) that Council agree to support NAPCAN’s ‘Kids Day Out’ fundraiser by:
a) Promotion of Kids Day Out in the Mayoral Column;
b) Sponsorship to hire both a medium jumping castle for $325 and a small jumping castle for $250, such funds to be funded from the Councillors’ Donations Vote; and
c) Promotion of Kids Day Out via Council networks such as child care facilities, staff email and community centres, etc.

5. COMMUNITY SERVICES.
(a) a new sporting award, to be named after a local sporting identity, be created to include children at infants and primary school aged 5-12 years who train, represent and/or are strongly affiliated with a sporting club located within the City of Randwick;
(b) this new award, the Bradley Matthews Award for Sporting Excellence and the Randwick City Council’s Hall of Sporting Champions be combined into one Program called Randwick City Council’s Awards for Sporting Achievements;
(c) the Randwick City Council’s Awards for Sporting Achievements be launched in September, 2004;
(d) Council’s Civic Affairs Committee judge the nominations and recommend winners for these Awards; and
(e) the winners of these awards be announced at a Civic Reception hosted by the Mayor.
